Sisters of Charity Outreach is a diverse organisation, offering a range of services to support women and families in need in NSW. Education, communication and care form the basis of Outreach’s work in breaking destructive cycles of behaviour. Our services interlink to provide a holistic support system for those in need.

Our Services include:

VOLUNTEERS
Outreach is committed to the active participation of volunteers in all its services. Volunteers attend a training program accredited by the NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditatation Board before their placement in a position.

DARLINGHURST CENTRE
The centre for administration and overall management of our family care services, and is the base for Country Care Link, the Outreach Shop, counselling and hospitality. The office is located in St. Vincent’s Clinic. Contact details are provided on the back page.

SAFE HAVEN
24 hour crisis accommodation for women and children in situations of domestic violence. Contact the Safe Haven via the Police or Outreach’s Darlinghurst Office.

EASTERN AREA VISIT PROGRAM
Support to the frail, aged and disabled through in-home respite for carers, companionship and socialisation, advocacy and referral.

COUNTRY CARE LINK
Transport, information, counselling, city-country school links (Telepal), hospital visits & assistance with accommodation for people from rural NSW. A confidential family information and support service for Country NSW
• assistance to find short-term accommodation for country people in the city
• a volunteer to give transport where appropriate
• legal assistance
• confidential personal counselling
• a referral service to find information
• a volunteer to meet country people in Sydney
• an interschool contact program linking country and city children
• a friendly voice for a chat
• visits for country people in hospital (on request)

LEARNING & LIVING SKILLS
Education (ESL, computing) and well-being (craft, counselling, homeopathy, reiki) programs for migrants and other members of the community.

Education, prevention and early intervention strategies, group programs, home visits and relaxation program to support mothers and young children.

SUPPORT & EDUCATION FOR LIVING & HEALTH
This service supports people bereaved by suicide, at risk of self harm, who have survived abuse, as well as providing mental health programs for schools and other institutions.

COURT SUPPORT
Friendly faces at the courts in Liverpool, Downing Centre, Darlinghurst, Fairfield, and the Family Law Courts (on request) to assist people through difficult court proceedings. Please contact Outreach’s Darlinghurst Office for any queries.
