“Silence is God’s first language,” wrote the 16th-century mystic John of the Cross, because silence is the normal context in which contemplative prayer takes place.
And although God in His power can meet us anywhere, He calls us to meet Him in the silence. How do we do that? How do we create more silence in our lives, in order to meet the God who created us?
