The Association of Sydney Pastoral Associates (ASPA) operates under the auspices of the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. Pastoral Associates are individuals, lay and religious, who work in some area of pastoral leadership within the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.

The objectives of the Association are:

  • To provide a support network for all Parish Pastoral Associates.
  • To facilitate communication amongst Parish Pastoral Associates and between other parish workers and the National Pastoral Associates and the NSW Association of Pastors and Pastoral Associates.
  • To foster an awareness of the role of Pastoral Associates within the Archdiocese.
  • To organise prayer, formation and networking opportunities for members.
  • To be a forum for consultation by the Archdiocese as appropriate.

Membership of the Association is open to any individual who is in paid employment in any number of areas of pastoral ministry in any Parish within the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.

Our ministry involves building up the reign of God within a Eucharistic community.
We are involved in healing, restoring, renewing, enlivening and challenging.
We have an attitude of service beyond that which is within the context of our role.
