2024 Camino of St Joseph event volunteer
Volunteer Services
Volunteers will assist with ushering/way finding and distributing water bottles to participants, between Pilgrimage Waypoints, or stationed at particular. Pilgrimage Waypoints as directed by CAS.
Reporting to
In your activities as a volunteer, you will receive information and instructions from Ivica Kovac who is the Life, Marriage, Family Officer at CAS.
Hours
You will need to be available from 7:00pm on Friday, 26 April 2024 to 8:00am on Saturday, 27 April 2024. Hours of volunteer activities will vary within this period.
Status
By agreeing to volunteer for CAS, you agree that you are acting as a volunteer only and you will not be paid or entitled to receive remuneration or compensation in consideration for, or in connection with the provision of the Volunteer Services or other benefits (such as paid leave).
Volunteer Service Period
You will commence volunteering on 26 April 2024 and will continue to provide the Volunteer Services until 27 April 2024.
Training
Before commencing as a volunteer with CAS, you will be required to attend and complete all relevant training.
Entitlements for duration of Volunteer Service Period
Hi-visibility vests will be provided for wear during provision of the Volunteer Services. Please return this vest to Ivica Kovac after your Volunteer Service Period.
Child protection
If CAS requires you to obtain and/or maintain a current Working with Child Check under the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (NSW), you will provide Daniel Ang, Director, Sydney Centre for Evangelisation with the information he or she requires to verify that you are cleared to work with children. Your engagement in this position is subject to that clearance.
If you are volunteering in a role in which you will have, or are expected to have contact with children, you must comply with the CAS' child protection policies and procedures.
Other background checks
If a National Criminal History Record Check is required, the relevant form will be provided to you. Your engagement in this position is subject to the results of that check (if required).
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be expected to perform the Volunteer Services or such other duties as may be assigned to you by your supervisor from time to time during the Volunteer Service Period.
In providing the Volunteer Services, please comply with the policies and procedures of CAS (as varied from time to time) which are provided to you.
You must treat these policies and procedures as directions from CAS, however the policies and procedures are not incorporated into this agreement.
You are responsible at all times for the safekeeping of your personal items (such as mobile phones, personal computers, handbags and the like). While performing the Volunteer Services, you must ensure that you take all reasonable steps to avoid injury to other people or damage to property.
Termination
Either you or CAS may terminate this volunteer arrangement at any time on one days' notice in writing.
Commitment to Values and Policies
It is a fundamental condition of your appointment as a volunteer that you will not act in a manner that is contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church or in a manner that would bring the Church or CAS into disrepute.
Confidentiality
You will keep all confidential information of CAS, including information relating to the business interests, methodology or affairs of CAS, or any person or entity which CAS deals or is concerned
(Confidential Information) in the strictest of confidence and will only use Confidential Information for the purposes of performing the Volunteer Services. You will not, either during or after the Volunteer Service Period, use or disclose to any person any Confidential Information except:
(a) in your proper performance of the Volunteer Services;
(b) if you are compelled by law; or
(c) if you have been authorised in writing by CAS to do so.
Further, you agree not to copy any Confidential Information from the premises of CAS whether in hard or soft copy or to otherwise remove Confidential Information of CAS from the premises or systems of CAS.
Your obligations with respect to Confidential Information survive the term of your appointment as a volunteer.
Intellectual Property
You assign the intellectual property rights in any materials that you create in the course of volunteering for CAS to the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of Sydney (ABN 40 938 125 422) for the use and benefit of CAS.
You will retain ownership of, and the ability to use, any materials that you created prior to volunteering and that are used in the course of your role as a volunteer.
You agree that CAS may use and modify, and authorise others to use and modify, any such materials in any manner for any purpose consistent with CAS' activities and objectives. You agree not to assert any moral rights in those materials.
You will not use unauthorised third party content in material you create for CAS.
Counterparts and Electronic Execution
This Agreement may be executed in any number of counterparts, all of which taken together are deemed to constitute one and the same document. The parties agree that this Agreement may be executed by electronic means and to be bound by electronic signatures.
You acknowledge and agree that CAS has not made any statements or promises to you about provision of the Volunteer Services other than those contained in this letter. Your agreement of the terms of this letter is legally binding.
