This week Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP celebrated his 25th Anniversary of priestly ordination with a Silver Jubilee Mass at Holy Name Priory Church, Wahroonga.
The Mass was concelebrated by Bishop Peter Comensoli, the Bishop of Broken Bay, Fr David Ranson, Parish Priest of Holy Name and Vicar General of the Diocese of Broken Bay, Fr Don Richardson, Dean of St Mary's Cathedral, many Dominican clergy and several others.

St Mary's Cathedral was packed beyond capacity on Sunday as hundreds of young World Youth Day pilgrims, their family and friends, joined the regular congregation for Mass, during which Archbishop Anthony Fisher officially commissioned them for their pilgrimage to Poland.

The Archbishop of Sydney, Most Rev. Anthony Fisher OP, expressed his sorrow at the news of the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida over the weekend and called on Catholics to offer prayers for the victims, their families and friends.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Florida time, gunman Omar Mateen entered the Pulse nightclub, a popular venue for Orlando's LGBTI community. Mateen killed 49 people and injured 53 more before he was killed in an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officials.

Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP has asked for this message to be passed on: "I appreciate all the good wishes and prayers since I've been here at St Vincent's Hospital from just before Christmas. It's been quite a challenge but the medical team here have been terrific.One of the complications with Guillain-Barré syndrome is the effect it has on all the muscles which restricts any movement, however, yesterday I was able to stand for a few moments which was very encouraging.Obviously I have a long way to go but doctors now say I'm on the road to rehabilitation.Please keep up your prayers for me and be assured I am praying for all of you.I look forward to giving you further updates."Please continue to pray for the Archbishop's recovery.
